A man walking his dog comes across a zombie, in this short story prequel to Complex Z by Alexander Pain.
I’ve always worried about how I’d deal with my animals need to eliminate during a zombie infestation, and I’m glad I’m not the only one. Pain appreciates that a dog’s gotta do what a dog’s gotta do, zombies or no.
This is a humorous short story, with a chilling ending, and I look forward to reading Complex Z. I hope Dale, the retriever, turns up in the novel too.

I would say Good afternoon. Oh no, not another. My dog has already destroyed three zombies today, and the thought of having to sit and watch him destroy a fourth is starting to get depressing.
