July in Review

Poor health continued to derail my plans this month, but lots of good things happened too, including two blog takeovers.

My horror story, No Place Like Home (free to members of my Super Review Team), received a mention on Priscilla Bettis’s 2nd quarter review round up.

July 2021 – Speak Up Talk Radio announced the winners of 2021’s second quarter FIREBIRD BOOK AWARDS contest. 137 books were announced in 120 categories.

One of the winning entries was from Irish author Iseult Murphy whose book titled 7 Days in Hell won in the horror category.

Authors and publishers from around the world submitted their work to the Firebird Book Awards. Two judges from a select panel of 15 judges read each book in its entirety and independently scored each entry. All judges committed to a set of standardized criteria that evaluates the quality of the writing as well as production aspects. Only entries with the highest of scores were awarded the coveted Firebird.

  1. Sorry to hear you have been sick a lot, but I am impressed by how book reviews you got done in that time! Congratulations on the award for 7 Days in Hell. I also enjoyed no place like home although it’s pretty dark! Hope August sees you in better health!

  2. I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling well, Iseult. I had a difficult July as well. I mean, there was lots of good news on the publishing front, but a lot of shit hit the fan this month as well. I’m so looking forward to August and hope it’s waaaay better.
