What a fun, sometimes scary, thrill ride of a book! I devoured it like a witch (who apparently have big appetites).

The first half of the book kept me reading with some genuinely tense and scary moments. The description of Adelyn’s possession was horrible, and I really felt for her. I loved the body horror elements of the story, and I couldn’t put the book down.

The second half of the book strayed into more horror comedy territory, but I loved the original take on the possession genre and I found the action scenes extremely entertaining. The interaction between two characters was priceless. I would go into more detail, but I don’t want to spoil anything.

I liked how Adelyn’s actions had consequences and it added to the nightmare scenario of her predicament.

I also loved the name of Adelyn’s home town – Witchery Cove – and all the witch related street names.

Some of the scenes were written quite simply, and I would have loved a bit more description to really immerse myself in the story. I also found some of Adelyn’s abilities so powerful that it strained my suspension of disbelief and lessened the horror of the whole situation.

Overall I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
