If you’re an indie author I highly recommend you join the Alliance for Independent Authors. Set up by Orna Ross ten years ago, ALLi is the premier member organization for self published authors.
ALLi has many great benefits for the indie author. They offer discounts for self publishing services, vet awards and companies that work with indie authors, offer help with literary agents and contracts, and advocate on behalf of self published authors within the creative industries.
Their private Facebook page is always full of helpful members to answer writing, publishing and marketing queries.
They also run virtual conferences a couple of times a year that focus on different aspects of self publishing. I’ve learned lots from the two I’ve attended in my eight months of membership. I especially like the fantastic giveaways that accompany most of the talks.
Self publishing can be a lonely road, with a steep learning curve, so it’s nice to have somewhere to go for trusted advice and support.
I’m a member too and totally agree. I’ve had a great experience so far, well worth joining

I have commented already but I would also be interested to know Iseult whether you are a member and whether it’s worth it? Good to hear the heroic Valinora’s testimony!

Yes, James, I’m a member and I think it’s worth it. I’ve found the self publishing conferences very informative. I’ve got their guides to self publishing (free to members) and I look forward to reading them. They also provide codes for free book set up on Ingram Spark, which I intend to utilize soon.

Thanks Iseult – will probably join then, and have alerted Joe to it as well.
