Jessica Backman is now nineteen, studying at college while continuing her father’s investigations into the paranormal. She’s surprised when psychic, Eddie Home, tracks her down and wants to work with her. Guarded, and suspicious, Jessica tests Eddie out on the investigation of a doppelgänger terrifying a young woman and her family. As Jessica realizes she’s up against a sinister entity more powerful than she’s encountered before, will Eddie be the help she needs to solve the case?
Jessica is all grown up and even more awesome! She’s studying ghosts, helping folks, and acing college. All while kick boxing and praying too. I love this character so much!
This time around she has met a potential partner in the paranormal business. Eddie Home, grandson of (real life) D.D. Home is a gifted psychic medium and also a really great character. I loved how respectful he was to Jessica, and his whole back story.
Another thing I love about this book was the inclusion of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I love how Shea includes Catholics in his books in some way or other, and this book didn’t disappoint.
The ghostly plot is well thought out and gripping. I enjoyed the early chapters of the book, but as the story progressed I couldn’t stop reading. I kept saying ‘one more chapter’ and then I had finished the book!
I love this series and these characters and I look forward to reading the third book in the trilogy.
I award Sinister Entity…

These books are now jumping to the top of my TBR! A cavalier king chares – TOTP would never forgive me if I didn’t! 🙂
