Currently Reading

Crowbait by David Rae

I’m so excited to be reading an ARC for this book. It’s the final installment of Rae’s Sun Thief trilogy. I love Rae’s writing. It’s beautiful, imaginative, and thoughtful. Crowman and Crowtower are both highly original dark fantasies, and Crowbait is another masterpiece in the same vein.

Recently Read

The Cabinet of Dr. Leng by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child

This book was a struggle to get through. Despite the exciting premise, it was disappointing and dull. The climax of the book is a detailed description of a man climbing a fence and then scaling the wall of a house. The story ends on a bizarre cliffhanger, and there’s at least one more book planned, but I won’t be reading it.

Reading Next

Sublimation Angels by Jason Sanford

A science fiction novella about people fighting to survive on a hostile planet, and a young man struggling to understand the death of his twin brother? Yes please! Plus it’s written by Jason Sanford, so I know I’m going to enjoy it.

What are you reading at the moment? Read anything good recently that you have to rave about?

  1. You have talked about Jason Sanford many times and my interest is piqued. I recently read a book about narcissism “Do You Know Who I Am?”, and I am reading “Sleep On The Wing”, a rudimentary poetry anthology. I am not a science fiction fan but I know people who are passionate about science fictions.

    1. Would you recommend the book about narcissism? Jason Sanford is a great writer, but I’m not sure you’d enjoy his books as much if didn’t like science fiction (although I’m sure you’d still enjoy them).
