What are you currently reading?

“Going Fourth” by G.J Dunn. As a judge for the Indie Blog Off Remnants, I am thrilled to have received my books for round 2. I got stuck in immediately with this fantasy comedy quest that reminds me of the old Simon the Sorcerer game.

“ShadowBane” by Cal Logan. Still slowly making my way through this intriguing fantasy set in a feudal Japan with lots of demons.

Made no progress this week with “Early Medieval Ireland AD 400 – 1100: The evidence from archaeological excavations” by Aidan O’Sullivan, Finbar McCormick, Thomas Kerr, and Lorcan Harney.

What have you recently finished reading?

“Black Rose” by Arlo Z Graves is the Willow Wraith Press Indie Book Club book for May. Set in a fascinating alternative twentieth century where machines became sentient and rebelled against humanity. I loved the set up, and the protagonist, but was disappointed in the simplicity of the story.

“The Intruders” by Michael Marshall. Glen Morgan, of “The X Files”, did a great job adapting this book for a limited TV series. The concept is intriguing. A sort of body snatchers by way of reincarnation. However, the development of the plot and the execution of the characters was unsatisfying.

What do you think you’ll read next?

“Blades Forged” by P.J Ashton is another of my Round 2 IBOR books, and is the book I plan to read after “Going Fourth”.
