What are you currently reading?

I struggled with focus this week, which led me to start a few more books but not do as much reading as I’d hoped.

I’m still reading “The Tenacious Tale of Tanna the Tendersword” by Dewey Conway and Bill Adams. I am greatly enjoying this entertaining, magical story. Peggs the sword fighting rooster is my favourite character, although he has close competition with Galdifort and Tanna.

I didn’t progress any further with “Early Medieval Ireland AD 400 – 1100: The evidence from archaeological excavations” by Aidan O’Sullivan, Finbar McCormick, Thomas Kerr, and Lorcan Harney. I was recovering from an injury this week, and I couldn’t concentrate sufficiently for this book.

I’m afraid I didn’t read any more of “Dust of the Dead” by Michael R Fletcher this week either.

I listened to “Starlight Jewel” by E.L Lyons. The audio book is narrated by M.K Baker, with all the female characters voiced by the author herself. Both Baker and Lyons do a wonderful job and make the book a joy to listen to.

I started “Pets of Legion” by Shawn Brink. This book has been on my TBR for far too long. I haven’t got too far yet, but it has a strong and promising start.

What have you recently finished reading?

I only managed to complete one book this week. “Diary of an American Exorcist” by Stephen J. Rossetti. The book is broken into short chapters concerning a different exorcism session. Between the chapters, information is provided about relevant Catholic teaching and theology. It’s an interesting, fast paced read and, like books by Fr. Gabriele Amorth and Fr. Jose Antonio Fortea, makes you think more about how loving God is than about terrifying demons.

“Culling of the House of Boars” by Jack Finn is also next in line on my TBR.
